Caravel Minerals released a scoping study in 2016 outlining a technically and financially robust project based on a conventional mining and processing operation for the main deposits at Bindi, Dasher and Opie.
Caravel is now progressing a new phase of pre-feasibility studies to update the 2016 scoping study to a higher level of confidence suitable for making a decision to commit to a definitive feasibility study. The initial phase of this work is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
The primary focus of the pre-feasibility phase will be advancing resource, mining and metallurgical studies. These studies will also allow more detailed assessment of power, water and infrastructure requirements. The pre-feasibility study phase will also investigate the wider environmental and social aspects of the project which are critical to its future success. As part of this, Caravel is continuing discussions with landholders, local governments and community groups. Caravel is utilising a small in-house project team and various specialist external consultants and advisors to undertake this work.
